1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Little Alley Steak (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses and shares personal information in connection with littlealleysteak.com and the forms on it.

2. Scope

This Policy covers information collected through our own website and forms.

It does not govern services you leave our site to use. Reservations are handled by OpenTable and Resy, merchandise by our Shopify storefront, gift cards by eGiftify, and we link to Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok. Each has its own privacy policy, and we would encourage you to read them before providing information there.

3. Information you provide

Please do not send us sensitive information we have not asked for. Job applicants should not include information an employer is not permitted to consider.

4. Information collected automatically

When you visit, we and our service providers may collect device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you view, the site you arrived from, and timestamps — together with cookies and similar identifiers.

Identifiers change when tags are updated. Because advertising and remarketing technologies are among them, we treat some of this processing as potentially a “sale” or “share” under California and similar state laws — see section 7.

Umami is different from the rest. It sets no cookies and does not identify you across visits, so it runs whatever your cookie choice is and is not affected by the controls in section 8.

• Restaurant staff and management who need it to respond to you
• Service providers acting on our behalf — hosting, form handling, email delivery, event management, analytics and advertising platforms
• Reservation, merchandise and gift-card partners, when you choose to use them
• Professional advisers and authorities where required by law
• A successor in the event of a reorganisation or sale of the business

We do not sell personal information for money. Under some state privacy laws, however, the use of advertising cookies and pixels can itself count as a “sale” or “share.”

7. Sale and sharing for advertising

We use advertising technologies — Google Ads and the Meta Pixel, loaded through Google Tag Manager — that may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, and comparable state laws.

You can refuse this, and refusing is the default. Advertising technologies are not loaded at all until someone accepts them. If you decline, or if you never answer, the Google Ads and Meta advertising tags are never fetched by this site.

Section 8 sets out how to change or check that choice.

8. Your choices

A short banner appears on your first visit. Declining means advertising and measurement tags are not loaded for that browser. You can change your mind at any time:

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale and sharing for advertising. Advertising tags are not loaded, you are not shown the banner, and we do not ask you to reconsider. A short confirmation is displayed once so you can see the signal was received.

Platform and industry tools

You can also use Google Ads Settings, Meta’s ad preferences, and the NAI and DAA consumer opt-out pages. Those are run by third parties, not by us.

9. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, including any legal, accounting or dispute-resolution requirement, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Enquiry and application records are kept while they are operationally useful and are reviewed periodically.

10. Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing or of targeted advertising. To exercise any of these, contact us using section 13. We will not treat you differently for doing so.

You may use an authorised agent where your state allows it. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will explain what is needed at the time.
